The EQ/AZ Harmonic Drive Sky-Watcher Wave 100i mount for astrophotography and observation is equipped with a harmonic reduction gear transmission. It features a double Vixen/Losmandy coupling, ideal for holding 1 or 2 medium-diameter optical tubes simultaneously.
Weighing around just 4 kg, the Sky-Watcher Wave 100i mount is equipped with a harmonic reducer transmission, making it ideal for supporting even heavy tubes without the need for counterweights.
The unique structure allows the simultaneous connection of two optical tubes for incredible photography and observation sessions. This technique also increases the load capacity of the main optical tube by over 30%.
With the new Sky-Watcher Wave 100i mount, the new frontier of long exposure astrophotography is finally within everyone's reach. The design of the harmonic motion reducers in the Sky-Watcher Wave mounts allows for high compactness while achieving a high load capacity even without counterweights: without a counterweight, it is possible to use the Sky-Watcher Wave mount with optical tubes weighing up to 10kg. When used with a counterweight, the load capacity increases to approximately 15kg.
The Harmonic Drive AR and DEC motors guarantee not only a high payload but also smooth and backlash-free operation. The reduction on the AR and DEC axes is 300:1.
It features a minimalist design with attention to detail and a body made of AL6061 aluminum alloy processed with CNC techniques.
Wired connectivity is provided through the USB-B port, the RJ45 socket for connecting the Sky-Watcher SynScancontrol panel, and the autoguiding system with an RJ12 port. It also includes a SNAP connector for connecting cameras directly to the mount.
The additional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features ensure stable and easy-to-configure connectivity with nearly all commercially available hardware and software devices, especially with the Sky-Watcher SynScan PRO app for iOS and Android devices.
The Sky-Watcher Wave mount requires 12V for regular operation, with a consumption of approximately 0.4A during tracking and up to 1.8A during GOTO phases.
The connection of optical tubes is possible with both Losmandy CGE and Vixen CG5 type dovetail bars.
The mount's rich features include a complete block of the RA axis to facilitate the safe assembly of counterweights and the setting of the HOME position. It is also equipped with red LED lighting for the spirit level and latitude indicator to aid visibility even in the dark.
