Sirio Thunder 27 is a CB antenna designed for fixed base installations without a ground plane. It is ideal for mast mounting where a ground plane is not available, offering reliable performance for CB radio users and 10-meter amateur radio applications.
The antenna uses a ¼-wave design with helical loading, providing omnidirectional radiation and vertical linear polarization. No tuning is required, allowing immediate operation across the supported frequency range.
Electrical Performance
Sirio Thunder 27 operates across the 25–29 MHz frequency range, covering the CB band and the 10 m HAM band. Its wide bandwidth ensures stable operation with SWR ≤ 2 over at least 5 MHz.
The antenna supports up to 100 W continuous CW power and up to 300 W CW for short periods, making it suitable for fixed stations using medium-power transceivers.
Construction and Installation
Built from aluminium, copper, galvanized steel and nylon, the Sirio Thunder 27 offers high mechanical strength and long-term durability in outdoor installations. The antenna is designed for mast mounting and features a UHF female connector (SO-239) for compatibility with standard coaxial cables.
