The M-70 uses a directional condenser microphone capsule which is specially tuned to the frequency response to create clear and crisp audio in transmission. The PTT uses three pneumatic cylinders similar to the YAESU M-1 microphone to provide durable, solid and smooth operation. A simple one-touch PTT key lock button is located just above the PTT key to allow for long duration transmissions.

The built-in Low-Cut filter allows you to shape the low frequency response (340Hz cut, -6dB / octave), this is activated via a slide switch located at the bottom of the microphone. An isolation transformer is integrated into the circuit board to improve audio quality. The M-70 is compatible with all YAESU HF transceivers equipped with 8-pin round connector or 8-pin RJ connector.
