The ASI715MC is a sensitive color camera with a 1/2.8" sensor and 8.46 megapixel resolution. With the Sony STARVIS technology used, this camera has low readout noise (0.72e) and ultra-high sensitivity, making it ideal for astronomical imaging of the planets and smaller deep-sky objects and also for microscope photography.
Complete with Fish Eye lens
The camera is also delivered with a Fish Eye lens kit with a 2.1mm lens to be able to take wide-field photographs of the celestial vault, in particular this is used to take shots during meteor showers.

The SONY IMX715 sensor has a diagonal of 1/2.8" and 1.45x1.45 micron pixels, the 1/2.8 format is widely used for high resolution planetary or solar shots, thanks to the very small pixels it is also possible to use short focal lengths!
